Sundays – What to Expect
YOU ARE WELCOME!
The first part of our Sunday gathering is a mixture of singing, prayers and hearing stories of how people have been blessed by God during the week.
WHERE WE MEET
We meet at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Meadow Farm Drive, Shrewsbury SY1 4NG at 3 pm every Sunday. The meeting normally finishes around 4.45 pm.
There is a small car park at the church and a bigger car park across the road at the Lantern community centre.
Here’s a YouTube playlist of the songs we choose from – they range from traditional hymns to modern worship songs, to a few written by talented people in our church!
At about 3.30 pm, children aged between 4 and 11 years are welcome to go to groups where they learn more about God through fun activities such as games, drama and craft. Some toys and books are available at the back left of the hall for parents and carers to use with their preschoolers.
The adults and older children get the opportunity to continue worshipping God through singing, praying and hearing Bible readings. Then a speaker talks for about half an hour on a particular passage in the Bible, or on a topic relevant to our everyday lives.
After the service, tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are available. We usually stay around chatting for a while so if you’re new, please introduce yourself to someone. We look forward to meeting you!
Note that the church offices are situated at a different location, so if you need to speak to someone during the week, our base is at Hope Church Offices, Grafton Mews, Shrewsbury SY1 3PU. Best to ring ahead if you’re thinking of calling in: 01743 272465.
