The young people in Hope Church are very much loved and involved as part of the family. They serve in various capacities such as helping the younger children, operating the projector and PA equipment, playing and singing in the worship team and helping at Food Bank.
Those Year 9 and above have their own meetings, Ignite, fortnightly in term-time where they enjoy opportunities to develop their giftings, have lots of fun and eat cake.
The younger Youth (Year 6 to Year 8) meet fortnightly as well; one meeting a month is with the Ignite group to help build friendships and relationships with the older Youth and the other, each month, is at their own LifeGroup. This is a place for members to share their lives and pray for each other and tackle difficult questions about the world and faith together. There is also a lot of cake eating and fun.
A highlight of the year is Soul Purpose at the end of May. Soul Purpose is an outreach event where loads of young people age 14+ from lots of churches in Shrewsbury go out into north Shrewsbury and Meole Brace to show God’s love to everyone there by getting involved in social action projects such as litter-picking, fun days, gardening etc. They work really hard and they absolutely love it!
